This is a PowerPoint Presentation that can be used for KS3 and KS4. It can be used in both a denominational and non-denominational classroom context. It can be used as part of a module on cults or New Religious Movements (NRMS). The PPT contains some basic criticisms of Scientology. The presentation includes a link to a short YouTube clip from the Louis Theroux film ’ My Scientology Film’ that shows members of Sea Org harassing him. The Presentation also includes some discussion and writing tasks for the students to do. There is also a PDF worksheet included which includes extra information on Scientologist symbols and the same exercises as in the PPT.

This is a presentation about the life of Siddhartha Gautama and how he became the Buddha. It covers from his parentage to his enlightenment. This is suitable for one full lesson period. Learning objectives are included at the start of the presentation.There are plenty of thought bubbles throughout the presentation for further discussion of important ideas with the class. This is also a activity sheet where the students can either take down the key points of the life of Buddha you discuss afterwards and fill in. It also includes a small picture and how the story has significance for Buddhists today. This lesson can be used for KS3 or KS4 in either a denominational or non-denominational classroom setting.

This Powerpoint presentation about Islamic beliefs about the Revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad. This is suitable for one full lesson period. Learning objectives are included at the start of the presentation. The link to the video that the students can watch while they complete their second activity is included in the video and to this page. It also includes two activities. Firstly, there is a worksheet where the students can complete a written task summarizing Islamic beliefs about the Revelation of the Qur’an. Secondly there is a cut and stick task where the students read about what the Qur’an teaches and sort them into ‘true/false’ piles. In actuality, all are correct. It is suitable for KS3/KS4/Junior Certificate class groups. The resource includes a puzzle where the students can crack the code to find the meaning of the Sikh symbol ‘khanda’. This is ideal for students to work alone or in pairs to fill in. Each resource consists of a PowerPoint Presentation that uses bright attractive colours and pictures throughout. At the end of each presentation there is a questions section that can either be used for orally or for written work at the end of the lesson. Additionally each presentation uses ‘thought bubbles’ throughout to highlight key questions and points of interest.
